Cheltenham, England - August 24, 2015

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! The whole district and some member and some investigators took me to lunch. They gave me some cute presents varying from clothes to a thing to adopt a 'big cat' like lions or tigers or cheetahs haha. sister Selwa even poured my bowl of cereal for me :) This week was awesome! We had the most people at church that we have ever had this week it was such a miracle! Transfers were this week but sister Selwa and I stayed the same. I will be in this area for about six months by the time i leave which will probably be September 30. We got a new zone leader named elder Martin from New Mexico. Then we have had a good week just teaching and finding sounds like there is some pretty exciting stuff going on back home with school starting and lots of good changes. So I had to give a talk in sacrament meeting! Haha the ward said it was my birthday present. I talked on eternal families: blessings of the temple. It was actually fun to write a talk on that. Made me realise how grateful I am to be part of an eternal family :) it was a cool experience feeling the spirit so strong from the other talks as well. Definitely a testimony builder :) well I better go but I love you all! Have a great week! Don't forget to be the best example you can be to others!

Love,

Sister Rasmussen

Cheltenham, England - August 10, 2015

hey! so today for our district p-day party we went to Gloucester Cathedral- Where they filmed HARRY POTTER!! It was so legit! you could totally see all the parts where they filmed, like specific seens. Especially in the second movie a lot. It was a ton of fun! then we went out to KFC for lunch (where the elders ALWAYS want to go). It was so cool seeing all the insanely old people burried there (like we are talking thousands of years) and all the really intricate carvings, statues, stained glass windows. It was noticeable though how even though we were in this huge, amazing church the Spirit was not there. When we went to lunch in KFC we obviously prayed over our food before we ate and the we all noticed how the Spirit was stronger in the middle of KFC with a bunch of missionaries praying than it was in that cathedral. Just goes to show how this is the true church :) Other than that, this week was fairly normal. We had a Zone Conference with Elder Dyches from the seventy again. He is the best! it was awesome feeling the Spirit so strongly as he talked about how we can be better missionaries and teachers. Then he pulled two random people out of the congregation to check how well we are keeping our planners in front of everyone. Of course he picked me! ugh! i was so nervous! but he checked this elders planner first. Let's just say this elder got rebuked... hard core...in front of a quarter of the whole mission! So then i go hand mine to him. I had a picture of Christ on the front of my planner which he really loved. Then he went through page by page holding it up so everyone could see. He smiled and said that i was doing a good job! He said it was a model for other missionaries! I am so glad he thought i was doing well with it! that would have been really embarassing if he didn't like it! Also this past sunday we had a huge miracle. Our numbers for the week were not too fantastic and we only had an hour of finding to get 3 lessons and two new investigators. With these our numbers for the week would be a lot better so we prayed really hard and specifically before we left our flat. we went outside and with in 45 minutes had gotten our goals! The Lord is so awesome to put those people in our path! what a blessing! we are seeing the people from that hour later this week and i really can't wait to teach them more. well hope you have a great week! love you!

Cheltenham, England - August 3, 2015

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? This week is been a good one. We have had some really cool people this week.we had a few investigators at church so that was good. Some funny things are happening this week – we were out finding on the street when sister Selwa stop this old lady. We tried to talk to her but she started to mumble in this gibberish language that we could not understand or recognise. Then she smiled widely At us to show that she had absolutely no teeth! It was so funny! Now everytime we see her on the street she waves at us and smiles! Also we have become good friends with all the homeless people that beg for money in town because we are there every day and so are they. One of them named John had a birthday the other day and I got him a birthday present. A shop in town sells American candy so I bought him my favourite candy bar. He told me that he has been portioning it out since then so he can enjoy it longer. It seriously made my heart glad. Today is my eight month mark! That is so crazy! Time has seriously flown especially these last few weeks with sister Selwa. Well I hope you all have a great week :)
