Cardiff, Wales - April 18, 2016

Hey everyone!

So this week was so intense! It was a mission wide challenge week and every day we got three challenges to complete. But randomly throughout the week another challenge would be added on called the "presidents challenge".  A few examples are... Touch ten cats. give a member 3 book of Mormons and have them write their testimony and then give them out. Take selfies with seven random people. Commit two people to be baptised in one day. Teach 6 lessons, restoration, plan of salvation, gospel of Jesus Christ, and 3 other lessons and then 1 member you've never met before, teach them the restoration. Find 2 new families, have a member pray about a street and then tract it. Have a Dance off with random people. Find 2 part member families. 2 member stop bys. 4 potentials. Use family history to find new people. 2 new investigators. 2 referrals received and contacted. Have someone draw a portrait of you on a card you give them. So it was pretty random stuff. It was cool though because it took a ton of work. It was probably one of the biggest learning opportunities on my mission. It taught me so much of different ways to teach and find. I'm so glad that I got to be here for it! We saw miracles from trying so hard and got 9 new investigators this week! We taught more than we have in a few weeks as well! Heavenly Father is definitely blessing us.

Well I love you all! Have a great week! Xxxx

Cardiff, Wales - April 4, 2016

Hey hey hey! This week was pretty good. Some highs and lows. But I'll give you the whole week so you guys know what's going on!

Monday- we went and played basketball all day at the stake centre. Oh my goodness it was sooo fun! I hadn't played that hard in a while so it felt way good to get back out and play.

Tuesday- we taught Mehdi. We taught him a couple times before but then he kinda dropped out. but this time was legit! We put him on a baptismal date so everyone pray for him! And then later that night an investigator invited us to come to her church and wow....it was really different haha. It was a good experience and everyone was really nice. But I am grateful for the restored gospel I know and love!

Wednesday- we did some member stop by's and it was good. We stopped by this really cute family in the ward and the mom was just getting out of the car and trying to get her kids in the house. It was great because we were able to go and help her get them in the house and help make lunch for the children. Then we helped her tidy up and vacuum and do dishes and things like that. It was a good bit of unplanned service. And right as we left we were stopping by a referral she gave us, but ran into a really cool former investigator instead! So it was a great miracle.

Thursday- had district meeting and taught Moein. Oh he's the best! It was cool to hear him bear his testimony in keeping the sabbath day holy (which we were teaching him). He is a great example to me!

Friday-we went penarth and got three referrals from some members there! It was sweet!! Up to this point referrals have been a rare thing in my mission, but miracles are happening lately. We also met
the funniest less active lady ever named boonadette. Ah bless her heart she is so sweet! We shared the resto video with her and she loved it so that is good.

Saturday and Sunday- watched general conference!! Highlight of my week! It was sooo good. This is the most I've ever gotten out of conference. I loved the women's conference about service. It really
touched my heart how much Heavenly Father loves us and how we can help others feel that same love through helping them. And then just got answers to so many questions I had been praying about. I really feel so spiritual fed and filled I just want to go out to the world and do good! Haha it's the best feeling ever! Smiling Face with Halo

Well I love you all! Have a great week!

Cardiff, Wales - March 28, 2016

Hey everyone!

So this week was pretty good! It went by really fast! Before I knew it the week was over. Well I think this week I'll give you the play by play of everyday again 😀

Monday- the whole district went to this restaurant called 'Red Hot'. It is a world buffet so there is loads of different kind of food there which was awesome.

Tuesday- we went and helped this old lady who is super super super sick. We got there and she was just miserable and in a lot of pain. We asked her if she wanted the elders to come give her a blessing and she said yes. So we called the elders and they said they would love to come but they needed a male to be able to go in the house since there wasn't one there. So they called loads of members to come, but no one could come. So sister Johnson and sister Rasmussen to the rescue...we started tracting all her neighbours asking if they had a male that could just come into this house with us for 5 minutes so the elders could give her a blessing haha Face with tears of joy it was the funniest thing ever. But hey, we met this really cool guy named Nicky that said he would come after we explained about the priesthood a little. So he came and watched the elders give a blessing, but right after the blessing he
needed to go. So we didn't get any contact info. But then like 20 minutes later we were outside trying to fix sister Johnson's bike and he came back! He came and fixed her bike for us! We were able to find out his moms house which he staying at right now so now we can go back and see if he wants to learn more. So the moral of the story- sometimes tracting for a blessing works...??? Haha

Wednesday- we were super busy with loads of appointments which was really nice. We got to see all our recent converts in the area and so that was sweet. They are all doing pretty well at the moment so I'm a happy camper!

Thursday- so we were supposed to have district finding out in city centre with a whole table set up with Books of Mormon and leaflets and everything. But then in the morning the elders called us and told us since it was raining they didn't want to get the stuff all wet. Well earlier sister Johnson and I had an idea to make cookies for some less active members and run them around for Easter then we could share a pass along card and show the new Easter video. We thought we would do this for like eight families and we thought we would do it on Easter. Well the elders said we should do that instead so we asked how many cookies they wanted us to make and they said at least enough for 23
families!! So we immediately got to baking. And long story short 200 cookies later we made it right on time 😀CookieCookieCookieCookie

Friday- we had district meeting with President Leppard. It was pretty good. We are still talking a lot about involving the members in the work as much as possible. I never realised how important all members are to missionary work. Member missionaries really make a big difference.

Saturday- in the morning we taught this new Chinese girl named Mody and put her on a baptismal date for the 23 of April so we will see how she does. And then in the afternoon sister Johnson got pretty sick. So we called sister Leppard and she told us we had to stay in the flat all that day and all of Sunday.

Sunday- So we had to cancel our Easter dinner appointment and couldn't even go to church. Tired face but it was alright, we just chilled in the flat and took naps haha. It was cool because since we weren't doing
anything I had a rare opportunity to pause and think. I thought about the holiday, the Saviour, and the Atonement a ton. I gained a new appreciation for the love Christ must have for all of us. I loved spending a day in prayer and reflection just strengthening my relationship with Heavenly Father!

Well that is pretty much my week for you! Hope your week went well!
Love you all!

Sister Rasmussen

Cardiff, Wales - March 21, 2016

Hey everyone!

Sorry I didn't email last week. I was super busy because of transfers. But I got a new companion. Her name is sister Johnson. She is from Pocatello, Idaho. She is so much fun and hardworking. I'm pumped for this transfer! Well Nancy got baptised! It was sooo cool! She is so solid. She bore her testimony at her baptism and it was legit to hear! She is absolutely lovely.

We are just having a ton of fun and working super hard. Amazing things are happening. Nothing specific, just making the every day stuff awesome. It's the best thing ever!
